Switching Between Organizations

If your CrafterBy account is a member of more than one organization, you can switch between them without logging out.

When this is relevant

This applies when you run more than one separate business. For example: you have a candle-making business and a separate jewellery studio. Each has its own materials, products, and settings, so each has its own organization in CrafterBy. One CrafterBy account can belong to both.

It also applies if you have been invited to help manage someone else's organization -- for example, a business partner or a client whose catalogue you help maintain.

How to switch organizations

1. Look at the top of the left sidebar. You will see the name of your currently active organization.
2. Click the organization name to open the organization switcher.
3. A list of all organizations your account belongs to will appear. Click the one you want to switch to.
4. The app reloads with the selected organization active. All data -- materials, products, orders, settings -- now reflects that organization.

Creating a new organization

From the organization switcher, click Create new organization. You will be taken through the same setup flow as when you first signed up: name, currency, and default language.

Data is kept separate

Switching organizations does not mix data. Materials you add in one organization do not appear in another. Settings -- including your hourly labour rate and overhead configuration -- are also per-organization.
